BEING AUTHENTIC AND CHOOSING TO LIVE AS SPIRITUAL BEINGS
Being authentic seems to be a difficult choice. The intention of the world around us does not always synchronize with the needs of our inner being. The intention of the world is for every human to be able to serve those who are in power. Even though we try to resist this, the games of money, materialism, and recognition have forced us to play into the tunes of the society rather than to our true self. The more efficient we are in doing the things of the world the more honor and respect is gained in society.
We are born as spiritual beings, our inner being is pure unconditional love. The world tries to mold us into obedient, useful, efficient, never rebellious beings, who can be of service to those in power. This creates the problem of repressing our spiritual nature, our oneness and connection with each other.
No individual is born to be a working machine and work for survival, or a killing machine and go for war, or a slave to serve the whims and fancies of people just because they are families or bosses, leaders or teachers. To mold individuals to cater to the needs of the society and its systems is a form of degradation, taking away their pride and dignity, and reducing them into helpless, dependent, mechanical individuals.
The intentions of the family, the religion, the education system, the country everything creates a great burden on the individual. And out of the need to feel loved, honored and supported the individual hides his truth and strives to fulfill the needs of others.
As children we are hurt because we come to know that people are asleep and they say they would love us not for ourselves but only when we do what they want us to do, to follow what they follow and to believe what they believe. We are hurt because we cannot live from our truth and we do not want to hurt others so instead of resisting we choose to surrender.
It is a big risk to be authentic and fight this big force of the society hence we repress ourselves and pretend to go with the intentions of society. We strive for perfectionism which is self destructive it destroys love and compassion within us. We forget our spirituality and celebrate all kinds of separation, separation of religion, economic status, work status, etc. The game of Duality/separation continues creating more hurt for everyone.
Brené Brown, author of ‘The Gifts of Imperfection’, says that, “If you trade your authenticity for safety, you may experience the following: - anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, rage, blame, resentment, and inexplicable grief.”
Letting ourselves live life from the place of authenticity is scary because we have danced to the tunes of society for a very long time. It takes great courage to make a choice to be honest, to be oneself in all situations, it is a deliberate choice to make every day, and this choice helps us to live from the place of joy. It takes love, patience and forgiveness towards oneself to live from the place of our truth. When we live from the place of our truth, we are sure to lose the support of friends, family and others around us who want us to be their version of us. But life is kind and when we take one step towards being authentic, life brings beautiful situations and new friends to support us in this journey.
The world is hungry for joy because there is a lack of gratitude for the things in life. Everyone wants to please, prove themselves and they want more of everything. This craziness of striving for more continues to keep the game of duality alive.
Appreciating every moment of living, relaxing and enjoying the simple things of life, understanding the oneness of humanity, realizing our connection with each other by a power greater than us is spirituality and this is the truth of who we are.
The meaning of life is to allow ourselves to be grounded in love and compassion for each other and for this Planet. Loving the unlovable and forgiving the unforgiveable, refusing to play all games that lead us to separation is a choice that each of us choose to make from our heart.
The wisdom from our heart helps us to understand that this world is not broken, and that we have not come here to fix a broken world, we are not here to create perfection. Instead we have come here to live a wonderful life. Life is always wise and kind, we know it only when we choose to simply trust.
Let us choose to remember and re-member with our Divinity and choose to live as spiritual beings, our authentic selves!
Blessings!
