~ An Excerpt from my new book, "Everyday Empowerment"

"Everyday Empowerment" has one empowering thought for each day ~

Day 104
I have noticed that when we choose to drop the burdens of mind stories, a grand space is created where we can bring in our visions and create solutions. We are the creators of heaven or hell in our life. Creating heaven or hell depends on what thoughts we choose to encourage and feed our minds with.
This reminds me of the parable of the long spoons, which I will share with you now:
A man asked an angelic being in his dream to be shown what heaven and hell are like.
The being showed him two doors.
When he opened the first door, in the middle of the room there was a large round table with a large pot of delicious smelling stew, but the people sitting around that table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be very hungry. They were holding spoons with very long handles and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.
The man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.
The being told him that this was hell.
The being then opened the second door. The room appeared exactly the same as the first, with the large round table and the large pot of delicious stew. The people around the table had the same long-handled spoons, but they were all well-nourished, even plump, and they were laughing and talking. The people here were taking spoons full of stew and feeding each other. Since the ladle was too long for them to feed themselves, they found joy in sharing and feeding each other.
The being told him that this was Heaven.
