STORY TIME

STORY TIME

JUST BE IN THE NOW

In a forest, a pregnant deer is about to give birth. She finds a remote grass field near a strong-flowing river. This seems a safe place, but unfortunately not so for long.
Dark clouds gather above and lightning strikes starting a forest fire. Also the deer notices a hunter with his bow extended pointing at her towards her left. To her right, she spots a hungry lion approaching her.
The deer has sever labor pains, what can she do? What will happen? Will she survive? Will she give birth to a fawn? Will the fawn survive? Or will everything be burnt by the forest fire? Will she perish to the hunter's arrow? Will she die a horrible death at the hands of the hungry lion approaching her? She is constrained by the fire on the one side and the flowing river on the other and boxed in by her natural predators.
What does she do? - She only focuses on giving birth to a new life.
The events that follow are strange. Lightning suddenly strikes and blinds the hunter. This makes him to lose focus and release the arrow which zips past the deer and strikes the hungry lion.The heavy rain that follows the lightning slowly douses the forest fire.
The deer gives birth to a healthy fawn. The mother and the baby are safe!
In the above story the priority of the deer, was just to focus on the now moment, it was simply to give birth to her offspring. The rest was not in her hands and any action or reaction that changed her focus would have likely resulted in death or disaster.
In our life too, there are moments when we are confronted on all sides with negative situations. The situations may trigger thoughts that are so negative and overwhelming. But take courage, go beyond the negative thoughts, choose to fully focus in the now moment, be with the things of the now moment.
I have noticed that focusing in the now, brings a sense of calm. Since the future moment also becomes the now moment, choosing to focus on the now moment, creates a peaceful future. When your focus is in the now, surprisingly the Universe takes care of the rest.

Blessings!

I DREAM , I PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN

I DREAM, I PRAY
I dream of a Planet where children are respected, appreciated and loved;
Where there is compassion for every child in every adult's heart;
Where every child is fed well and clothed appropriately;
Where 'education' caters to the needs of each child specifically;
Where adults realize that play is not just a relief but it is actually a serious learning for the child;
Where children are able to have more time to play or sit silently with their thoughts;
Where adults become models and not critics;
Where children are loved and cherished as a divine gift with innumerable possibilities;
Where their caretakers give them beautiful moments of wisdom so that children carry these memories into the future to create grandness;
Where they are loved not as possessions but loved unselfishly;
Where they are taught and given responsibility with freedom so that they become self confident adults;
Where the adults around them decide to be really responsible, process their thoughts, and provide the children an environment free from violence and fear;
In this safe Planet may our children prosper!
I dream, I pray, and I speak words of blessings for our children.
