RESPECTING THE EARTH

RESPECTING THE EARTH

GAIA, is our Earth Mother. Every ancient mythology talks about the Earth Goddess who is the Great Mother of all creations. She gave birth to the sky, the sea, the land and all mortal creatures. All ancient sacred text and ancient religions around the world were based on Goddess worship which centered around the Earth.

The human body is made up of the Goddess' body which are the five elements; air, water, earth, fire, and space. The Earth is our Mother and respecting her and connecting with her helps us to become stronger.

For thousands of years we have lived in total disconnection with the Earth. Hence, we have destroyed, plundered, and tried to possess her, which in turn has wounded us.

Connecting with the heart of the Earth literally by visualizing a cord of light from our belly down to the heart of Gaia helps us to move beyond our fears and heal our wounds. This kind of visualization practiced everyday brings immense peace and it slows down the thought patterns that do not support us.

We can also connect with the Earth by taking the time to be with the stillness of nature. Connecting with nature brings immense healing to the body, mind, and soul.

In many Shamanic traditions, digging a hole on the ground and speaking or shouting our woes or illness into it and asking for help, is practiced as a very powerful method of healing.

Sitting down and placing both palms on the Earth and sending gratitude from the heart for a few minutes, will bring immense peace.

The Earth and everything around us is very much alive as the Earth is a very large being that is vibrant with life and wisdom of the Universe. We forgot to connect with the earth. We poke and plunder, mindlessly destroy forests, burn trees, apply fertilizer and pesticides, and we proceeded to make inventions to make things work. The earth is patient. It continues to absorb all of the negativity of human violence, war, and anger, but when it no longer has the strength to hold back, it erupts in volcanoes and earthquakes.

The earth is willing to co-create with us and is patiently waiting for us to wake up and align ourselves with our Divinity. Our loving attitudes give the earth the strength it needs. Since the Earth gave us her body, the more we communicate with her, the more we will link with our own powerful core, which is the God within.
