SIX TASTES HEALS SIX EMOTIONS

Today is New Year's day in my country India. This is according to the ancient Vedic Calendar, people celebrate this day with great expectations. The Spring begins the new year, the time to sow seeds and the time to sow our intentions to the Universe.
The intention for today is to rejuvenate and renew body, mind, and spirit.
Most of the food made today will be with the six tastes :

Six tastes heal Six emotions for the year ahead

Sweet, sour, salt, bitter, pungent, astringent  are the  six tastes  and
happiness, disgust, fear, sorrow, anger, and surprise are the corresponding six emotions
Hence the food made on this day includes the six tastes.
I will share a recipe for a special dish today:

Jaggery , tamarind, salt, neemflower, chilli mango will be the six ingredients with the six tastes :-)

Recipe

Jaggery 1 cup
Tamarind pulp 1 tsp
Mango 1 sliced
Green chillie 1 or red chilie 1
Neem flower 3tsp
Salt
Ghee
Mustard seeds ¼ tsp

Boil mango and tamarind pulp till they are cooked. Add the crushed jaggery to it.
In a pan heat ghee, add mustard and chillie and neem flower and fry till it is brown and now add to the boiled pulp.
This is like a chutney, you can eat with rice, or bread, or chips.
Enjoy !
Happy New Year!
